LaszloName
From OpenLaszlo
The Laszlo platform got its name under mysterious circumstances shrouded in the fog of history. Some believe it is named in honor of a key member of the Bauhaus, a legendary design school associated with the birth of the Modern Movement in art, architecture and design. Others claim it has something to do with a character in the movie "Casablanca". Finally, there's a rumor it was named after a pet cat. No evidence of this cat exists on the Web.
Any other theories should be added here for the record.
- It all stems from a horrific mis-spelling on a print order due to a martini lunch that ran too long. The original name of the company was "Presentify".
- It is the only Hungarian name that is the same backwards as forwards, if you have been hacking for 80 hours straight. Also, T.S. Eliot backwards is toilets.
- It is a reference to the incredibly brilliant computer hacker who lived in the basement of a dorm in the movie "Real Genius".
